The Thing Design<\/h3>\n

When i first started thinking about shaping this Twin Fin it accrued to me that instead of shaping a new board and then thinking what fins would suit it. I would select the fins first then shape the board to maximize the use of the Keel Fins. I wanted to keep the Mini Simmons feel while pumping up the boards performance a bit. The final result has blown surfers away over the last decade it has been in my quiver.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Twin Fin Features<\/h3>\n

The Thing has many features that are unique to it. If we start at the nose it has a diamond nose with a hydro hulled bottom this gives the board very good lift on takeoff even in small gutless surf. The foil of the board is very Mini Simmons with a S deck and quite a flat deck through the middle section. Rails are quite thin for this typo of surfboard and they have a unique bottom angle that works well to create a more performance feel to the board.<\/p>\n

Heading towards the wide Bat Tail the bottom features a channeled double concave and V through the tail area, again this is for performance and the bottom feeds the fins for down the line speed. Instead of a flat simmons rocker the Thing has a performance Fish rocker that compliments the board and enables it to do fast arcing turns in the pocket of even heavy waves.The fin setup and placement are perfect for speed turns and late drops and it comes with the recommended twin fins for the surfboard.<\/p>\n
