Surfing in the cold North east\u2014are we mad? With water temperatures plummeting as low as 5 degrees Celsius, it might seem like a challenge reserved for only the bravest of surfers. However for those who embrace the icy waves, it\u2019s a unique adventure that rewards determination and passion.<\/p>\n

The rugged coastline of Northeast England offers some of the most exhilarating surf experiences, where the cold, crisp air and powerful waves make for an unforgettable ride. So, while the temperatures may be chilling, the thrill of the surf is enough to keep surfers coming back for more.\"Surfing<\/a>The Northeast of England is home to some incredible surf spots that are often overlooked. It gets flat a lot round here, however when the surf does arrive, it\u2019s nothing short of epic. Looking out from the rugged cliffs of Northumberland or visiting gems like Saltburn, the region offers a variety of breaks that cater to all skill levels.<\/p>\n

While the waves may be unpredictable, when the swell hits, the conditions are perfect for thrilling rides, with clean barrels, powerful lefts, and rights, and the occasional heavy punch that only the North Sea can deliver. Surfers know that patience is key here, but when the right conditions line up, it\u2019s a surfer\u2019s paradise, delivering waves that rival more famous surf destinations.<\/p>\n

Surfing North East England: you’ll need these things<\/h3>\n

If you are going to be a Surfer in the North East then you also need to be an explorer, our coastline is littered with hidden surf spots. Some are only accessible by foot so you could need a good map to find your way. The North East is one of the last places you can literally surf on your own, we might have it tough up here but at least we don’t have crowds to deal with just yet.<\/p>\n
