The Squad — Design & Features
The Squad features a hull-to-flat bottom like a Mini Simmons, flowing into a hulled V diamond tail that delivers exceptional drive and control. With multiple fin setup options — Single with Quad or Tri/Quad — you can fine-tune your ride to match any condition.
You’ll want to ride this board a bit shorter than you think. It packs plenty of volume, and the refined shape offers loads of lift, so sizing down brings out its best performance. If you’re unsure which size to go for, just drop me an email — I’ll help you find your perfect fit.
The Squad’s shape is essentially a Mini Simmons, but if you cut it off from the front fins and extended the rails by around eight inches through the tail, you’d get this design. The result is a board suited to a wider range of waves. It carries a full nose with straight rails for speed and lift, a slight S-deck to keep volume down up front, and boxy rails in key areas to help it release cleanly from the face for crisp, snappy turns.
Squad Sizes
Sizes are available from 5ft6 to 6ft6 in varicose widths and thicknesses, this is a hand shaped surfboard so volume is an approx estimate based. Check out the video below for more info.
SQUAD 2 — The Next Evolution
Introducing the Squad 2, a fresh take on our most successful hybrid surfboard. This new version features a slimmer nose and a more refined outline, combined with our latest Planning Hull bottom design. The result is a board that offers a more conventional, connected feel compared to the original Squad.
The Squad 2 isn’t just an update — it feels like a completely different ride, which is exactly why we’ve kept both models in the lineup. Each has its own unique personality and performance sweet spot.
Thanks to the new hull, the Squad 2 rides more in the wave than on it, delivering a smoother, more engaged experience. It performs beautifully off the tail, allowing for shortboard-style turns and maneuvers, while the more pointed nose reduces volume up front for a tighter, more responsive feel.
Like the original, it features multiple fin setup options and the same hulled V diamond tail, giving you that perfect balance of lift and drive through every turn. Sizing guidance remains the same — ride it smaller than you think you need to truly unlock its potential.
The Squad 2 feels amazing to ride it can easily out catch bigger boards onto a wave, it’s speed is impressive but whats more important is the way this board turns off the tail, the Planning hull lifts the board so the back 3rd is all you are riding giving you maximum back foot control. The more pointed nose is easy to duck dive witch has it’s advantages when the waves are a bit bigger, all in all this is a great upgrade to an already good surfboard design.
