The new Tail Gunner Short
This new short Hybrid board shape has taken about two years of R&D to develop the hull design, We’ve been fine tuning it to deliver the right amount of lift and drive to give you maximum speed and maneuverability. Just like it’s big brother Tail Gunner Mid everything about this new design is original and has been thoroughly tested over the last year.
The new Planning hull bottom design holds really well on steep barrelling faces while still allowing the tail to release for some lovely rail to rail turns and cutbacks, We are quite proud of this board design as it has been a long process to get it right. However as soon as you ride the Tail Gunner short you will understand.
Tail Gunner Short features
First off you have the nice curved outline which holds a decent amount of volume throughout the board enabling you to go shorter by about 4″. Second you have the rails and bottom contours combo which work together to create a lot of lift and deep wave penetration. Thus getting you right into the waves power producing speed and drive in the turns. 
The rails and bottom work due to the Planning hull design. The rail edge is further under the bottom due to the chinned area of the planning hull, this allows the rail to punch deep into the wave and makes it more effective. The planning hull produces loads of lift especially on takeoff. You may find the Tail Gunner catches waves very easily and the popup is a very smooth experience
The bottom contours go from Planning hull to a deep double concave in the tail. Our new tail design is a unique pin tail that fits the wave perfectly. Put together with the rear contours it delivers a great platform for power turns and cutbacks. As well as the Tri/Quad fin setup pictured above you can custom order this shortboard as a Twin and trailer this converts the board into a great Twin Pin surfboard that still performs very well in steep waves as well as your day to day surf conditions.
