An Unidentified Surfing Object has landed in the UK
Warning- the information you are about to receive is classified. All around the UK surfers are seeing a strange new object in the Lineup. Some mistake it for a Mini Simmons other think it’s an Alaia. Government sauces have analyzed the evidence and come to the conclusion it may be some sort of never seen before Hybrid Simmons.
Introducing the new mash-up hybrid Twin Fin surfboard that features the best bits of two of my favorite boards, the Mini Simmons and the Alaia. As you can see it looks out of this world. However it’s not from outer space it’s from North East England.
The U.S.O. Hybrid
After riding a fin-less Alaia for several years, I realized this design offered far more potential than the traditional flat-rocker, no-fin approach. At the same time, I didn’t want to sacrifice what makes the Alaia so special—the unique glide and feel that set it apart from conventional surfboards.
The natural evolution, then, was to experiment with adding features like fins and more rocker. Doing so opens up new possibilities and allows the board to perform in a wider range of wave conditions, while still preserving the essence of the original ride
Ultimately i chose to mate the Finless Alaia with the Mini Simmons as both boards follow the same laws of physics. With many small tweaks i managed to get the best features from both board mashed together into the U.S.O.( Unidentified Surfing Object ). It glides with slick speed and maneuvers like a Mini Simmons, making it extremely fun to surf.
Surfboard Features
There is so many features to this board to mention, the shape is packed with twists and curves you won’t find on the average surfboard. I have kept most of the Alaia features like the Planning Hull, Boxed rails, volume distribution and unique overall shape. To this i have added the rocker form my Mini Simmons and also the Fin Setup for the Twin Fin version. All this put together looks like a board that would not be out of place on a Sci-Fi movie.
Sizes- Custom sizes are available from 5ft4″ to 6ft4″ eg. 5ft6″ x 19.8″ x 2.5″ 34.5ltrs 6ft2″ x 21″ x 2.8″ 47ltrs
Waves- Any wave or Break from 2ft to overhead, push it to it’s limits.
Surfers ability- The surfer should be an intermediate or above, this is not for the faint hearted.
Construction- Either PU or EPS / Epoxy depending on what is available this board needs a specific blank for manufacture
Price- The U.S.O. starts at £599.99 due to the extra costs in manufacture, this does not include fins or shipping
