As a Surfboard manufacturer that hand shapes a lot of my surfboard shapes i feel the need to often experiment with hull designs, this year I’ve been very busy already designing a full new quiver of surfboards all unique from nose to tail. As most surfers who know me know I’m mad about the Planning hull Simmons Surfboards of the past and incorporate al lot of the hull design into the surfboards i produce giving you a better lift and ride quality. So this year i have decided to bring out some very exciting surfboards, some are already available and some are still being tested.
First up lets talk about the new boards already on the website. First up is the Smish which gets it’s name from the fact it is a mash up between the Mini Simmons and a Fish, Mini Simmons style template and bottom contours mashed with Fish style rocker and rails this gives a fun loose surf to play around on in the summer more maneuverable than a Fish and more conventional than a Min Simmons.
Next we have the Eleventh hour Twin Fin Mid length taken from the idea for the Twin Pins around, this has to be my favorite board at the minute, a Twin Pin style board mashed with a Hydro dynamic hull design gives you a very fast and aggressive surfboard with great turning power and able to float over flat sections of waves easily due to the flat rocker section just in front of the back foot. This board performs on another level due to the unique hull design.
Lastly i will give you a sneak preview of the two Mid length surfboards undergoing testing at the minute both Hydo-dynamic planning hull designs with multiple fin systems available …
